This is my first year as PTO Chairperson. My son, John, is in third grade and daughter, Callathea (Callie) is in kindergarten. I grew up in New York but am definitely not a Yankees fan (go PawSox!).

Responsibilities: Seeing to the orderly conduct of all business of the PTO. Calling of all PTO meetings.

Valerie assumes the office of the chairperson when the chair is absent or unavailable.   Valerie also oversees programs to be carried out by various committees and task forces as needed.

Donna keeps the minutes of each regular or emergency meeting of the PTO and writes up a summary.  The minutes are submitted to the principal and chairperson for approval.

Lori helps compose, type and mail or distribute all correspondence for any PTO business.

Treasurer – PTO Accounts                                                                                   Sarah Alessandro                                                                             ssjalessandro@yahoo.com,                    

Sarah is in charge of any monies collected and spent by the PTO.  Sarah has check writing authority, countersigned by chairperson Scott Alessandro.  At each regular meeting of the PTO, Sarah provides an updated budget and accounting.  Sarah ensures that books are audited once a year by a volunteer audit committee.

Co-treasurer – Fieldtrip Accounts                                                                    

Jean M. Sheedy

Jean maintains grade specific accounts (for use in their graduating year), makes deposits and disburses funds as necessary for fieldtrips and 5th grade spending.   Jean has check writing authority, countersigning along with the principal for the specific accounts.  Annually, an accounting is performed with the treasurer to close and balance the accounts.

Cathy Mullin

Dana and Cathy attend all meetings of the Citywide Parents’ Council, to represent fully and fairly all the concerns, programs, and activities of the PTO as voted by the parents and teachers attending the PTO meetings.  Dana and Cathy then report to the PTO at each regular PTO meeting what went on at citywide meetings.
